Please define your understanding of the Heart of the Prophet?

Let's create a dialogue surrounding this question over the next week.

Prophetess Coates,

I believe an outstanding characteristic of the heart of the Prophet is the fear of the Lord. Thinking about the Old and New Testament Prophets, the Lord chooses men and women who obey Him with love and Holy reverance above all else and will not fallaway under persecution, difficulties, and even pain. Our Lord and Savior modeled this lfestyle perfectly.

Minister Lisa, thank you for your response.

You are correct in stating that a heart of the prophet is to fear and obey God. Thus from I Samuel 15:22, " But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Proverbs 15:16 states, "Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil."

I believe the heart of a Prophet is to die to flesh daily. Prophet are to pray more than they prophesy! Stay connected to God. This is can be accomplished by staying in His Word, study, fast and pray, and adhering to Holy Spirit. Prophets are to be one with God's heart. Hate what He hates and loves what He loves.

I believe the heart of the Prophet is one that is submitted under God in love and intimacy. They set their hearts on the things above and not below. The heart of the prophet reconciles people back to Jesus with grace and mercy. As the Bible says the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy. Everything done by the Prophet is in direct correlation with the heartbeat of God and spoken as a mouthpiece of God. Prophets hearts are loyal as well and before leading submitting comes first. The Prophet recognizes authority and submits unto the covering which they’re called to. Prophets heart are for the people, and all Prophets want to lead people correctly in the love of God. All Prophets have a heart of intercession, They stand in the gap and speak thus saith the Lord in the secret place for their fellow brethren and those who God is drawing by his spirit. I believe these few things are the heart/ qualities of the Prophet.

This is great, thank you brother Raekwon Kelly.

You stated, " Prophets hearts are loyal as well and before leading submitting comes first."

Can you share a little bit more about loyalty and submission?

Certainly, When I spoke of loyalty I was speaking from the perspective of being found faithful over a few things to be made ruler over many in spiritual coverings. The Prophet isn’t into the business of betraying or causing discord amongst anybody as they’re loyal to being found faithful at heart. When the Apostle Paul said follow me as I follow Christ, The Prophet has the heart to follow, imitate and be loyal to the man or woman of God they’re called to. BUT, Prophets understand that if certain things are out of order with them it will not be followed. The covering of man is Christ so Prophets understand the loyalty to Christ covering is first. You will not see a mature Prophet calling out the inconsistencies unless willed by God. But the Prophet will be interceding and covering them. This brings to my remembrance of Nathan and David, if you’re tracking me.
